NEW YORK, December 11, 2017 – Neuberger Berman, a global, independent, employee-owned investment manager is honored to be ranked second among companies with 1,000 employees or more in the 2017 “Best Places to Work in Money Management” survey by Pensions & Investments, the global news source of money management. Employee responses highlighted the firm’s open communication, volunteer spirit and retirement solutions and planning resources, among other strengths. Following a first place finish in 2016, this year marks the fifth consecutive year that Neuberger Berman has been among the winning firms in this same category.

George Walker, Neuberger Berman Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, commented: “This award is about our firm and our culture, but mainly about our people. It is our people who make Neuberger Berman a great place to work. As a private, 100% independent, employee-owned firm, we are able to focus our efforts solely on our clients, our colleagues and our communities. We’re gratified by the recognition.”

“All of the firms being recognized this year are leaders when it comes to creating a great place to work,” said P&I Editor Amy Resnick. “It was great to see reflected in the survey comments how significant it is for employees to feel valued by their employer. It shows what really makes a company a best place to work.”

Pensions & Investments partnered with Best Companies Group, an independent research firm specializing in identifying great places to work, to conduct a two-part survey process of employers and their employees.

The first part consisted of evaluating each nominated company's workplace policies, practices, philosophy, systems and demographics. This part of the process was worth approximately 25% of the total evaluation. The second part consisted of an employee survey to measure the employee experience. This part of the process was worth approximately 75% of the total evaluation. The combined scores determined the top companies.
