New York, December 12, 2016 — Neuberger Berman, a private, independent, employee-owned investment manager, is honored to be named as the top ranked firm among those with 1,000 employees or more in the 2016 “Best Places to Work in Money Management” survey by Pensions & Investments, the global news source of money management. The results are 75% based on employee responses, which this year highlighted the firm’s culture, transparency of leadership and honest communication, among other strengths.

This is the fourth consecutive year that Neuberger Berman has been among the winning firms in this same category. Neuberger Berman was ranked second in the 2015 and 2014 surveys and third in the 2013 survey. Fifty companies in total were named to Pensions & Investments “Best Places to Work in Money Management” list for 2016.

George Walker, Neuberger Berman Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, commented: “We are a private, employee-owned firm. Employees have created a remarkable client-centric culture over the past 77 years. We work hard to improve employee engagement, enablement and retention, while focusing incentives on long-term investment results. Delivering for clients enables us to deliver for employees. Our mission is clear. We are gratified by this recognition.”

Pensions & Investments partnered with Best Companies Group, an independent research firm specializing in identifying great places to work, to conduct a two-part survey process of employers and their employees.

The first part consisted of evaluating each nominated company's workplace policies, practices, philosophy, systems and demographics. That part of the process was worth approximately 25% of the total evaluation. The second part consisted of an employee survey to measure the employee experience. That part of the process was worth approximately 75% of the total evaluation. The combined scores determined the top companies.

P&I Editor Amy B. Resnick said of the entire survey, “Employees at these top-ranked firms most often cited their colleagues, the firm’s culture and the benefits as the things that make it a great place to work.”
