New York, December 7, 2015 — Neuberger Berman, a global independent, employee-owned investment manager, is pleased to announce it was honored as a fixed income category winner by Chief Investment Officer at the publication’s 2015 CIO Industry Innovation Awards, held on December 3 in New York City.

Neuberger Berman was selected as the winner for the fixed income asset class within the asset management and servicing category. According to CIO, Neuberger Berman won “for the firm’s ‘willingness to work with pension clients on relaxing fixed income mandate constraints’ within a difficult yield environment, and the resulting portfolio: a multi-sector approach that attempts to reduce interest rate sensitivity and increase exposure to private debt.”

“We are delighted to be chosen by CIO for providing our clients with insights we believe are necessary to invest successfully in today’s fixed income markets. We believe our investment approach, led by what we refer to as State Space Analysis, helps us determine what we believe are the most attractive opportunities across the fixed income market,” said Andrew Johnson, Head of Global Investment Grade Fixed Income at Neuberger Berman. “By casting a wide net we can capitalize on the diversification and return potential of all market sectors.”

The 2015 CIO Industry Innovation Awards marks the sixth annual “celebration of innovation in the global asset management and asset owner communities,” according to the publication. The CIO Industry Innovation Awards are split into two general categories: asset management/servicing and asset owners. With input from the awards’ advisory board, as well as surveys and data where applicable, the CIO editorial team makes the ultimate decisions in selecting finalists and eventual winners.
