Neuberger Berman Appoints Ralph Eissler As Head of Private Markets Research

New York, May 22, 2024 – Neuberger Berman, an employee-owned, private, independent investment manager, announced the appointment of Ralph Eissler, CFA, as Managing Director and Head of Private Markets Research.

In this newly created role as Head of Private Markets Research, Mr. Eissler will work closely with investment teams across the NB Alternative’s platform to conduct fundamental research on private market asset classes, identifying drivers of returns for manager and company performance. His team will help inform private market investment decisions and portfolio construction using quantitative and data insights. He will collaborate with the Insurance Analytics and Institutional Solutions team as well as with the Data Strategy team on data acquisition, utilizing NB Alternative’s breadth of data for actionable insights.

Mr. Eissler joins Neuberger Berman from Ares Management where he was Managing Director in the firm’s Quantitative Research Group. Before Ares, he served in a senior role at Landmark Partners (since acquired by Ares). Mr. Eissler has previously worked as a private equity attorney with Linklaters LLP and Kirkland & Ellis LLP, and as an economist for the European Commission, Brussels, in the internal market directorate covering topics including financial regulation. Mr. Eissler began his career as an Associate in the Corporate and Private Funds Groups at Simpson Thacher & Bartlett LLP. Mr. Eissler holds the German equivalent of a J.D. as well as an M.S. in Economics, both from the University of Konstanz, Germany, an L.L.M. from NYU School of Law and the German equivalent of a Ph.D. ("Dr. jur.") from the University of Konstanz, Germany, in Law. Mr. Eissler is a CFA® charter holder and a member of the New York Bar.
