Neuberger Berman Places Four in Top 50 on Barron’s "Top 100 Women Advisors" List

NEW YORK, June 21, 2018 – Neuberger Berman, a private, independent, employee-owned investment manager, announced today that four of the firm’s wealth advisors were named among Barron’s “Top 100 Women Financial Advisors” in America for 2018. The four Neuberger Berman advisors, who all placed in the top 50, are: Stephanie Stiefel, Holly Newman Kroft, Virginia Guy, and Lisa Reed.
Barron’s ranked Ms. Stiefel, a Managing Director at Neuberger Berman, at #4, making her the highest ranked woman advisor in New York. Prior to joining Neuberger Berman in 1990, Ms. Stiefel was a senior tax manager and personal financial planner for Arthur Andersen & Company. She holds a BA from Queens College and is a Trustee on the Foundation Board. She is also a board member of the Jewish Federation of New York, where she serves on the Audit Committee and the Standards and Conflicts Committee. The 2018 ranking marks Ms. Stiefel’s fourth consecutive appearance in the top five of the “Top 100 Women Advisor List.”
Ms. Kroft, ranked #10, is a Managing Director at Neuberger Berman, and joined the firm as a Wealth Advisor in 2005. She specializes in providing tailored solutions to the unique investment needs of her clients, which include ultra-high net worth individuals, endowments, and foundations. Prior to joining Neuberger Berman, Ms. Kroft began her career in 1995 as an investment banking analyst at Oppenheimer & Company and later moved onto specializing in private equity transactions, mergers & acquisitions, and providing strategic advice to media and telecommunications companies at several boutique media advisory firms. She earned a BA from the University of Michigan. This is Ms. Kroft’s fifth consecutive appearance in the “Top Women Advisors” list, and she has also been ranked this year on the Barron’s “Top 1,200 Financial Advisors” list.
Ms. Guy, ranked #15 by Barron’s, is a Managing Director who re-joined the firm as a Wealth Advisor in 1997. Virginia develops customized wealth management plans designed to help her clients achieve unique investment goals, spanning multiple decades and generations. Prior to re-joining Neuberger Berman, she was the chief administrative officer and financial advisor for Grand Detour Associates, an ultra-high net worth family office, providing investment management, tax, and estate planning guidance to her clients. She began her career at Neuberger Berman in 1985 as a portfolio assistant, and attended the State University of New York, Rockland, and the New York Institute of Finance. The 2018 ranking marks Ms. Guy’s fifth consecutive appearance. She was also recently ranked on the Barron’s “Top 1,200 State Rankings” for the fourth year in a row at #47 in New York.
Ms. Reed, Managing Director at Neuberger Berman, makes her debut appearance on the list in 2018, ranking #39. Lisa brings more than thirty years of investment management experience to her role as a Wealth Advisor, where she is responsible for investment management for high net worth individuals, small corporations, foundations and endowments in the greater Los Angeles area. Before joining Neuberger Berman in 1998, she worked as a Senior Portfolio Manager at Scudder Kemper Investments, focused on taxable fixed income. She attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and is a member of the CFA Institute and the CFA Society of Los Angeles. Ms. Reed also recently made her debut on the Barron’s “Top 1,200 Financial Advisors” list, ranking #90 among all financial advisors in California.
